Come with me to RH | Aynho
Driving through the winding countryside roads and situated in the most perfect setting in the picturesque village of Aynho, you’ll find RH’s first UK showroom, an interior design and photographers dream and a celebration of design and history.
The 400 year old, once privately owned country home and estate of Aynho Park, designed 400 years ago by architect Sir John Soan, with landscaping by landscape architect Capability Brown, is now home to RH England- Formerly Restoration Hardware, a luxury US Interiors and lifestyle brand, and their beautifully curated, contemporary furniture showroom. On the doorstep of the Cotswolds, and integrating RH’s expertly curated collections seamlessly with original antiques and artefacts, it is easy to spend the day exploring and immersing yourself in a world of interiors, historic architecture and styling, being inspired by every room, each more beautiful than the next. The tonal, neutral colour palette, the juxtaposition of old and new, traditional and modern, all work in perfect harmony with the landscape and soft cotswold stone.
The launch of RH’s first UK location was highly anticipated, as many interior design lovers have been inspired by this brand for years, yet had always been inaccessible outside of the US, until now. If you fancy heading out for something a little different, an afternoon at RH is an afternoon well spent. The interiors and products aside, it is a lovely escape wandering through this impressive home and grounds, and enjoy the wonderful guest experience- You are in for a treat!
RH feels more like an experience than simply visiting a furniture ‘showroom’ as you may think. Beyond the spectacular furniture collections, enjoy complementary Valet parking upon arrival, before visiting the Sir Joan Soan exhibition, a celebration of his works and legacy. With this, immerse yourselves in the rare, historic and contemporary art, design, lifestyle books in the Design Library. As a lover of coffee table books and design myself, you can imagine I was in my element! The books were thoughtfully displayed as pieces of art, like wandering through a gallery.
In between feeling inspired within the seemingly endless rooms, complete your experience by enjoying a freshly made juice from the Juicery, a wood fired Pizza at the Loggia on the outdoor terrace, a delicious dining experience at the Orangery, or a stop at the Tea Salon, before continuing your exploration. You can also make use of RH’s wide Interior design services and consultations on offer, who help create carefully curated dream spaces.
We visited on a beautifully warm, sunny day, which only elevated the experience further (and photographic opportunities!)…and can confirm the pizzas were incredible!
Whilst photographing at RH, I really wanted to capture the essence of this wonderful place; the grandeur but also the warmth, juxtapositions, the textures and architectural details, all the while embracing the natural light flooding in. Aside of the incredible setting, RH’s interior collections offer timeless design and all the inspiration you could want.
You can see more from my visit to RH over in my portfolio.
…Even the customer restrooms were elevated!
